Our damaged world, caused by centuries of a climate changing faster than we could adapt, is very different from the place our parents grew up in. We have survived riots, famines and plagues but there has only been one thing on my mind for the last few decades: finding my brother.

Life isn't easy. We don't always know where our next meal is coming from and the lack of infrastructure makes travelling difficult, not to mention dealing with the relics from our parents' generation. But we've survived the worst of it and we are starting to rebuild. We just need to not repeat any of the mistakes that our ancestors made.

This is the story of changing times and how we endured them. This is the story of my journey across a lawless country, where people are only just starting to move beyond mere survival. And this is the story of my search for my brother and the people I met along the way.
